Anya Vero

Anya explores the blurred lines between art and anthropology, with a signature style of oil painted on silk stretched over hand-crafted asymmetrical canvasses.

A Ukrainian-Russian born in Latvia, she has a degree in Fine Art from the Ruskin School (Oxford University), Masters degrees in Anthropology from the London School of Economics and SOAS, and a Diploma from the University of the Arts London.

She has lived in numerous cities, including Seoul, Paris, Berlin and London, and draws on her experiences and anthropological research to explore the human condition through her paintings, with themes such as human trafficking, abuse, depression, and oppression. Her work has been exhibited at various galleries including the TATE Modern in London and Museum LV in Riga.

Ned Stranger

Ned is really two people trapped in one body.

On the one side he’s a romantic songwriter, a polyamorous idealist and lover of conversation, never more comfortable than when dropped in a room of people.

On the other he’s a closet nerd and intellectual, a logical-minded, book-loving Cambridge law graduate who relaxes between songwriting sessions by doing the Guardian cryptic crossword.

Originally from southern England, Ned saw success with his London-based indie-folk trio August and After, securing millions of listeners across the world with a stream of Official Spotify playlistings (including Your Coffee Break, Infinite Indie Folk, Lost in the Woods) and various features on BBC Radio and Kerrang.

His solo songs explore themes that range from the big picture (jealousy, polyamory, collective climate guilt) to the hyper-specific (Spiral tells the story of 19th Century French mathematician Evariste Galois). And he is as much a storyteller as a songwriter, with his concerts characteristic for the engaging and humourous stories between songs, so much so that he was invited to perform at Volkstheater’s True Stories night in January 2023 along actors, writers and comedians.
